Title

The Fungi Forest

Whisper Hiding Summer Storm

You decide you won't get anywhere if you can't talk to those within the Wood, so you approach the cave and flip over the rock. Slowly, it opens and allows you entrance. It's dangerously dark inside, and for a moment it seems as if you'd made the wrong desicion.

"Who is there?" asks a feminine voice. Is it the equine you saw?

You introduce yourself, still unable to see where the equine is. You explain that you are a wanderor, and that you saw her enter. With a faint laugh, she appears as a shadow near the edge of the glow.

"I am Whisper Hiding Summer Storm," she says, pausing between each word that makes up her name. "Though many call me Storm or Whisper. I am surprised, you are a very perceptive wanderor, I should think that you were the only wanderor to find this cave...or, at least, how to get in."

You ask, "Why are you here?"

She sighs, heavily. "That is a good question. I suppose it has to do with the fact that the people who told me they could protect the Wood -- those in the castle -- cannot any longer. Not that they do not try." She shakes her head. "But up at the castle they're having their own problems, and the rest of the Wood seems to mean very little right now...if you'd ask me..."

She stops, as if she's said too much, and you ask, "But why are you here, in this cave?"

Light springs up around you, and the entire cave begins to shine. You look at her, surprised. "That happens," she says. "The lights don't come on right away, incase intruders or something..." But, something on the wall catches your eye:

She watches you look at the plaque, then says, "When I was ushered into the Wood by the Gaurdian of Beasts, this is where I found to be a suitable home. I am certain there are other places that I could go, but I am a bit of a lone spirit. That plaque that you see, it appeared when I first moved in here. You see, this cave has its own magic."

She kicks over another rock, and the cave door opens again, the lights dim. "I suggest you go, wanderor."
